Dale & Meadow

Yarrow has been called soldier's herb for centuries; it was pressed into wounds on battlefields across the ancient world, valued for its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. In the British folk tradition it featured in love divination and protective charms, and was thought to ward off illness if carried.

Comfrey was known as knitbone; used for centuries to set fractures, heal wounds and ease joint pain, its allantoin content promotes cell repair and remains well regarded in herbal and sports medicine today.

Cornflower was worn by young men in love; folklore held that if the flower faded quickly the feeling was unrequited. Its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties are quieter than the other two but no less real.

These botanicals grow in the dales and meadow margins of the Peaks - comfrey at the waterside, yarrow on the drier ground, cornflower at the field edge.

Draw a bath; the plants will do the rest.

Two generous handfuls under hot running water. Soak twenty minutes. 500g, ~6 baths.
